Swayanjaatha bags best awards

View(s): Sudath Rohana’s ‘Swayanjaatha’ bagged the best teledrama award while Jagath Chamika and Samadi Laksiri won the best actor and actress at the Sumathi Tele Awards 2012 held last week.
Sudath Rohana was adjudged the Best Director. Dhananjaya Siriwardena and Nadheesha Hemamali became the Popular Actor and Actress winning highest number of votes while ‘Sihina Piyapath’ became the Most Popular teledrama. Malinda Perera won the Up and Coming Actor award while Dinakshi Priyasad won the Up and Coming Actress.
For the contribution made to Sri Lankan cinema arts, veteran singer and musician Victor Ratnayake and award winning yesteryear film star Cyril Wickrema this year won the U. W. Sumathipapa Memorial lifetime award.
