NDB emerge champs in ‘B’ Division

Clinical National Development Bank (NDB) clinched the Division ‘B’ title at the Mercantile Badminton Championship which was held at the S. Thomas’ College Indoor Courts in Mt. Lavinia recently.

NDB shuttlers performed creditably throughout the tournament beating HSBC 5-nil, Nations Trust Bank 3-1 while losing against Ceylinco by 2-3 in the preliminary rounds before reaching the next stage. Despite losing to Seylan Bank in the Singles final by 2-1, NDB bounced back to beat them in the Doubles 2-nil to clinch the overall championship. Prabash Indrajith of NDB was adjudged the Best Player of the Division ‘B’. NDB will compete in the Division ‘A’ next year.
