Indian Cultural Centre will screen documentary films “1000 Feet of Hope” by Faiza Khanand the film “Palimpsest: India and Europe” by Archana Kapoor at 5.30 pm on Friday, December 28 at its auditorium.
1000 Feet of Hope is an artificial low-cost limb invented by an illiterate craftsman – the Jaipur Foot that has given a new lease of life to thousands in India.

Now it makes its way to Jaffna, Sri Lanka where the team attempts to fit one thousand limbs in one month. The film follows the journey of this group as they continue to forge new medical boundaries and break political ones.

Palimpsest: India and Europe, the filmhelps understand fascinating cross cultural influences in societies that geographically so far away yet emotionally so close to India. It is a journey through five countries of Europe to experience the influence of India’s diverse and colorful culture that has gently and silently moved into societies which do not have linguistic, historical or colonial ties with India.

The documentary weaves stories of Europeans as they interface with Indian dance, music and cinema and interpret them in their own way.
The admission is free on first come first served basis.
