Chinese new hydropower stations use IFS applications and IFS enterprise explorer
View(s):IFS, the global enterprise applications company, recently said that the China Yangtze Power Corporation (CYPC), the owner of Three Gorges hydropower plant, the largest of its kind in the world, has gone live with IFS Applications, including the new user interface IFS Enterprise Explorer, at two new mega-hydropower stations on the Jinsha River, China.
In August 2011, CYPC signed an agreement with IFS covering the implementation of IFS Applications at two mega-hydropower stations on the Jinsha River.
The Jinsha River ePMS (electric power production and management information system), based on IFS Applications, helps CYPC achieve its business goals by enhancing professional asset management, production management and professional collaboration at all levels in the Jinsha River Basin, the company, which has a development centre in Colombo, said.
CYPC has been an IFS customer since 2002, when IFS Applications was selected as the plant management solution for the Three Gorges hydropower plant. The Jinsha River ePMS system is based on the current IFS platform used by the Three Gorges hydropower plant. The solutions supports Jinsha River’s multi-power plants operation and management requirements.
In addition, CYPC plans to extend this new generation of ePMS system across the Three Gorges group, thereby streamlining the upgrade of the group’s existing electricity production management system.
