Local travel company opens “Amaara” branded hotel in Kandy
View(s):A local travel company Worldlink Travel Group has opened up a new brand of hotels named Amaara in Kandy.
The small luxurious hotel “The Amaara Sky” comprises 12 rooms with a penthouse, a suite, four deluxe rooms, two superior and two standard rooms.
The rooms are situated to provide visitors a clear view of the Kandy city as if from the sky, Worldlink Travel Group Chairman and Managing Director Ahintha Amerasinghe said in a media release.
Worldlink Travel Group launched the AMAARA brand hotels in Sri Lanka with the opening of the small and luxurious hotel The AMAARA SKY in Kandy.
Worldlink Resorts is the newest member of the Worldlink Travel Group and owns the Amaara Sky Hotel.
“We see a huge opportunity in the hotel segment hence we are planning to open a chain of small hotels under the Amaara brand in various strategic locations in Sri Lanka,” says Worldlink Director Gerard Amerasinghe.
The word “Amaara” which is local means eternal beauty and moreover Amaara is the first letter of the family name of the owners with an extra “a”.
The Worldlink Travel Group has been over the years helping various Sri Lankan artists by buying their paintings and now boasts of a collection of over 200 paintings which are displayed at all of their travel offices. The Amaara Sky would be a virtual art gallery with over 80 beautiful paintings of various artists on the walls of the hotel.
A mini spa called The Spa in the sky would be introduced as well for which Worldlink is currently negotiating with a company to manage it. The view from the large Jacuzzi with a glass roof looks onto the Hanthane mountain range on the one side and the Kandy city on the other.
