The 45th National Carrom Championship will commence on January 5 at the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL) headquarters in Maharagama. According to an official media release, the competition will kick off next Saturday with the Men’s Doubles event which will run up to the fourth round from 9.00am to 5.00pm. The tournament will continue on four weekends with matches beginning from 9.00am each day before winding up on January 27 with the awards ceremony.
Next Sunday the tournament will continue with the Women’s Doubles event which will be worked out up to the semi-final stage. The Men’s Doubles event will resume on the same day with the quarterfinal stage while the Veterans Singles will commence from 11.00am.
On the second weekend the tournament will continue on January 13, with the Women’s Singles event which will run up to the fourth round. On January 14 the Mixed Doubles event will commence followed by the Veterans Singles semi-finals. From 12.30pm on the same day, the finals of Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles and Veteran Singles will be played.
The Men’s Singles event will begin on the third weekend commencing from January 19. On Saturday the event will begin from 9.00am and run until 5.00pm followed by the first and second quarterfinals while on Sunday the event will continue in the same fashion before the third and fourth quarterfinals are played. On the fourth weekend the rankers’ events of the Men’s and Women’s Singles will commence and will run up to the semi-final stage in both categories. The 45th National Carrom Championship will come to an end with the completion of finals of the Men’s and Women’s Singles.
