American College of Higher Education making steady progress

Steady and consistent progress over a period of seventeen years has given its strength and stature to serve the nation in keeping with its socio-economic imperatives and objectives and ideals in Higher education. American College of Higher Education upholds excellence, relevance and equity, as its guiding principles. Its services are now provided through its main campus at Dehiwala, and a network of branch campuses located in Kandy, Galle, Negombo, Matara and Kurunegala.
Recognition of the American College of Higher Education as an International Centre of Broward College of USA by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools of US in 2010 is one of the important milestones of the development of the organization. The elevation of the ACHE to an international center of the Broward College offers very important benefits to the students and streamlines the procedures relating to student registration, issue of academic transcripts, university transfers, scholarships, use of online library facilities and the teaching learning programmes.
Degree and Diploma Courses conducted by the American College are of the highest quality since their syllabi and the curricular are prepared and updated periodically by respective colleges in USA. Collaboration with a large number of accredited US universities through affiliation, articulation and transfer agreements help students find placement after the completion of their programmes in Sri Lanka. Thus the ACHE academic affiliation to Broward Community College (BCC) Ft .Lauderdale, USA enables the students to transfer to universities in US and elsewhere. Such transfer arrangements are in place with more than 50 flagship universities in US and up to now nearly 2000 students have transferred to universities in USA and Canada, including Florida Atlantic University, University of Toledo, Winona State University, Pepperdine University and California State University, Chico.
It also maintains an academic affiliation with Excelsior College, a member of the University of the State of New York through which Associate and Bachelors degree programs are conducted in Sri- Lanka and conferred by Excelsior College.
In addition to the academic programs with US universities, our academic collaboration with Guangzhou Civil Aviation College in China has provided facilities to train students in different areas of civil aviation including Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Aircraft Structural Repair Engineering and Tourism Travel & Flight Services. These two year diploma programs conducted, one year in Sri Lanka and one year in China, are much sought after by students who are interested in an employment in aviation industry.
The 2+2 University Transfer program is offered to enable students to do the first two years of over 500 degrees in Sri-Lanka and then transfer to USA or elsewhere to complete their degrees.
Students are at liberty to choose subjects in a vast number of combinations. The Associate Degree programs available are Associate of Science in Administrative /Management studies, Associate of Science in Business, and Associate of Arts. They are conferred in Sri Lanka by Excelsior College, a member of the University of the State of New York., The American College of Higher Education is also conducting four year Bachelor of science degrees in Human Resource Management and General Business. These degrees are also awarded by Excelsior College.
Programs available at certificate, diploma and advanced diploma levels are many. These career- based programs are available in different fields of study such as English, Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Child Psychology, Computer, Business Studies, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior.
