Chinthaka Thenuwara and Poornima Jayasinghe present ‘Beyond perception’–a conceptual photography exhibition which ends today, January 6, at the Park Street Mews, No 50/1, Park Street,  Colombo 2 . It will be open from  9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The exhibition looks at how photography can be tied with technology by using DSLR cameras, different printing surfaces, printing techniques, projections and display methods to break barriers in photography within local and international communities.

Chinthaka Thenuwara’s forte is photography and his conceptual and commercial photographs have won many awards internationally and locally.  He has utilised his multiple artistic talents and experiences to create controversial, interactive and evolving pieces of work with his wife and partner Poornima Jayasinghe.

Poornima is an artist, designer and teacher who is Head of Visual Arts at the British School in Colombo. An academic by profession, Poornima has a holistic approach towards art and design. Inspired by the simple aspects of life, she is able to view these as evolving creations that have a bearing on life, taking on various forms depending on the individual or situation. She joins her husband in challenging traditional forms of art and what becomes of them.

They are also active members of the Collective of Contemporary Artists (CoCA).
