Noel Undergoes Brain Surgery

Noel Brian Ranasinghe King of Sri Lankan country and folk music, the man who created a trend which really triggered a revolution in our music scene has been affected by ill health. Noel who was diagnosed with ‘Palsy’ took a turn for the worse and was rushed to Apollo hospital in India for brain surgery. This was mainly due to his weak condition to undergo eight hours of open brain sugery .
Noel was in India for 10 days where he underwent further scan tests, before being treated by Cyber Knife Robotic Radio surgery. He is now resting but still full of hopes and also keeping himself occupied with his banjo and guitar. Noel is the only musician to have sacrificed 40 recordings on the Phillips label offered to him. This he did to give a chance to help others at a time when they faced a ban.
His sacrifices helped to save many .Noel counts 55 yrs of music in 2013 and 50 years of his own ‘Le Ceylonians’. His recent CD titled Sri Lankan Isle of Paradise is now out-published by M Entertainments – it is selling fast. The CD comes with a special souvenir pack is an ideal gift for all who really love and care for his original music.
