SL Embassy in Rome ushers in the New Year

Sri Lanka’s ambassador in Italy Asitha Perera hoisted the National Flag at 9 a.m. on January 1, 2013 at the embassy in Rome in the presence of staff of the mission and after the National Anthem, a two minute silence was observed to commemorate the war heroes and others, who sacrified their lives for the motherland. Thereafter, the reading of the oath of Public Servants was administered.
The Ambassador addressing the staff wishing them a bright, prosperous and peaceful New Year, made reference to the New Year message of the President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa.
