Sirisoma and Aslam in final showdown

Twenty times Sri Lanka national billiards champion K.H. Sirisoma of Sri Lanka Ports Authority and S.H.M. Aslam of Moors Sports Club qualified to meet in the final of the 60th National Billiard Championship when they won their semi final encounters at the BASL headquarters billiard table at the Sugathadasa Sports Hotel.
The nine frame semi final encounters saw Sirisoma recording an easy five frames to one win over Anil Rohana of AAA while Aslam conceded two frames before overcoming A. Jayaratne of YMBA by five frames to two in the other semi final.

The biggest upset was the defeat of defending champion and one of the of the contenders for the title Abdul Sattar who was toppled by club mate Aslam by four frames to three in the seven frame quarter final.
The 11 frame final is due to be played over two sessions with the first session scheduled to begin at 10.00 a.m. today.
