The Sunday Times Business Club (STBC) moved to a new venue – the Cinnamon Lakeside – this week.

The hotel, which says it has won honours as the best 5-star property in Colombo – will be the club’s host hotel for the next few years.
The STBC’s previous host hotel was the Taj Samudra.

At the club’s first meeting of the year on Tuesday, opening speeches were made by STBC President Chaturanga Perera and Cinnamon Lakeside General Manager Denis Gruhier. Mr Perera thanked the sponsors of the club and the previous host hotels, saying that it was nice to return to the Cinnamon Lakeside, a club venue more than six years ago when it was known as the Trans Asia Hotel.

“We look forward to a warm and fruitful relationship that is mutually satisfying to both parties,” he said. Mr Gruhier also welcomed members of the club and looked forward to attending some of the discussions organised by the STBC on national, social and economic issues. The corporate sponsor of the club is Etisalat. Adrian Jansz, Director Sales and Marketing – Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, was also present.
