Bomb Bike in Town
View(s):‘Bombs and Roses’ (Bomba Saha Rosa) a story of a bomb bike that roams the city is mingled with love, horror and suspense, directed by Anuruddha Jayasinghe will be released on February 14.
Starring Upeksha Swarnamalee, Mahendra Perera, Bimal Jayakody, Darshana Dharmaraj, Vishwa Kodikara, Sriyani Amerasena, Suminda Sisirsena, Jayani Senanayake, Sampath Tennakone, Kumara Thirimadura, Pramudi Karunatilake, Udayanthi Kulatunga, Isham Shamsudeen and Sampath Jayaweera, the film is produced by Eric K Makawitage.
The film revolves around Shani, a young model who rises to fame after appearing in music videos and advertisements on TV. She falls in love with Nirmalwho is also a popular model and is often seen on TV, when they first performed in a music video together.
Meanwhile a suicide bomber targeting a V.I.P enters Colombo. His mission is to ride an explosives laden motorbike into the vehicle convoy of the V.I.P target. He begins to roam the city in the deadly bike until he meets his target. However the news reaches the security forces and they are now on the hunt for the suicide bomber.
‘Bombs and Roses’ is the third directorial venture of Anuruddha who earlier directed acclaimed films ‘Sankranthi’ and ‘Dawala Duwili’ . His debut film effort ‘Sankranthi’, competed in the ‘World Cinema Section’ of the International Film Festival of India in 2006 while his second film, ‘Dawala Duwili’, which has not yet been screened in Sri Lanka was among the final ten films selected for the ‘Competition Section of the International Film Festival of India in 2007. It was also nominated at a number of other international film festivals in the years 2008 and 2009.
The technical crew of the film includes Channa Deshapriya as cameraman, Jagath Imbulpe as art director, Priyantha Sirikumara handling make up and Ranga Dasanayake as music director.
