Anjana Ambepitiya a bright hockey prospect

Vimansha Anjana Ambepitiya of St. Thomas’ College Matara is an outstanding national hockey prospect. As a member of the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey team for the 39th Pesta USM International Age Group Hockey tournament, which concluded in Penang, Malaysia recently, he brought fame to his alma mater with his spectacular performance.
Anjana has represented STC Matara at the all island schools hockey tournament since 2006. He has also represented the Matara district at the Southern Province Games since 2007 and was a member of the winning team in 2011. He represented the Matara district team at the Sri Lanka Schools Senior Hockey Championships and was a member of the Sri Lanka Schools junior hockey team that year. Hockey is not the only sport Anjana has excelled in. He has represented his school in Football too. He was a member of the STC team that won the annual Golden Pennants Football encounter in 2011 and 2012. He led the STC Matara hockey team this year and was the deputy games captain.
