CICRA launches Project Management version 5.0
View(s):For the first time in Sri Lanka, CICRA Education will launch Project Management Professional (PMP) version 5.0 next week.
“Project Management Institute (PMI), USA that regulates a Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) has just released its version five and we’ll be the first in Sri Lanka to conduct training with this new guide,” CICRA Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said.
“Acceptance of project management as a profession indicates that the application of knowledge, processes, skills, tools and techniques can have a significant impact on project success. The PMBOK Guide that subset of the project management body of knowledge that is generally recognized as good practice,” Mr. Dayaratne said. “CICRA will begin the first four day version 5 training program on February 16,” he said.
“Our main PMP resource person is Mr. Aruna Kooragamage. He is an experienced project management trainer. Since he is a practising professional, the trainees have the opportunity to learn real life issues faced by project management specialists and how to solve them,” he said.
CICRA – premier cyber security education provider in Sri Lanka – has partnered with Project Management Institute Colombo Sri Lanka (PMICSL) recently to offer internationally recognized project management training programmes under direct guidance from the PMICSL, the local body of the PMI, USA.
“Under this partnership, quality of our project management training has tremendously improved,” Mr. Dayaratne said.
The PMP credential is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. Globally recognized and demanded, the PMP qualification demonstrates that a person has the required experience, education and competency to successfully lead and direct projects. This recognition is seen through increased marketability to employers and higher salary.
