Kumar Sangakkara among others to speak at Royal College Class of ‘72 seminar
View(s):The Royal College Class of 72 have organised a seminar on ‘Excellence in Action’ featuring a distinguished panel of speakers from the business world. A leading attraction will be cricketer Kumar Sangakkara, former Sri Lanka cricket captain.
“We are proud and privileged to have Kumar to be a speaker at our seminar “Excellence In Action”. Reams and reams of newsprint have been written about this young ambassador of ours. Without a shadow of doubt he can be classified as Sri Lanka’s finest batsman. To reach 10, 000 runs in the same number of innings as the great Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar is no mean feat.
“Kumar’s voluntary stepping down from captaincy after the World Cup shows how much he cares for the continuity of the game. He showed the entirety of Sri Lanka that he left when people asked why he was leaving and not when. The day may not be far off when the ICC will come a knocking on his door,” a spokesman for the organisers said.
Other presenters at the event include Dian Gomes, Group Director, MAS Holdings, Hiran Cooray, Chairman, Jetwing Hotels, Rajendra Theagarajah, Managing Director/CEO, HNB, Dr. Desmond Devendran Alexander, CEO, FORESEC Academy, Naqeeb Hussain, Director Operations, Ecolab, and Asmath Iqbal, Investment Advisor, John Keells StockBrokers.
The seminar will be on February 13 from 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. at the Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand. Tickets priced at Rs. 6,500 per person are available at Shums Travels, 33A, Queens Road, Colombo 3 or contact Erandi on 071-5990265.
