Wickets, but no place — (in retrospect)
View(s):The above captioned article was written by some Concerned Thomians or a Thomian, in the Sunday Times 10/02/13.
Herewith is a kind response, as there is always another side to consider impartially.
The respect towards officials by team players at STC is also a top priority as much as the sport.
Thus details as to why the player in reference lost the 1st X1 recognition need not be made public in good faith.
Winning and losing is articulated in the 2nd verse of the revered college song, which is of pride to the Thomians.
As before, there are many promising junior players and also other coloursmen competing to get placed in the 1st X1. Strangely, just one player only seems to be a “favourite” in the above article!?
Do not ruin the image of STC nor the chances of the student to represent College, by resorting to ad hoc publicity. If there is any issue, meet the authorities as a gentleman, respecting the fact that STC cannot be administered by all.
STC does facilitate new panels and coaches if required. Just a few may leave knowing their results and limitations.
The rich and famous, all and sundry etc cannot bulldoze STC. There are no perfectionists in the world either.
Even Coloursmen have been dropped before and captains changed for the greater good of the student and the sport.
STC produces boys of worthy calibre on and off the field whether they be rich or poor~just a handful lose their way!
With malice towards none, the correspondence is closed. Esto Perpetua~for all we have and are !
