“Angara Ganga” flows again
View(s):The new production of the 1980s popular play, “Angara Ganga Gala Basi” directed by Ranjith Dharmakeerthi, with its rich music by the late Master Premasiri Kemadasa along with songs of Dr. Ajantha Ranasinghe will have its premiere shows on February 27 and 28 at 6.30 pm and at 3.30 pm and 7.00 pm on March 2 at the Lionel Wendt, Colombo.
A groups of veteran and up and coming cast including Sampath Thennakoon, Rajitha Hewathanthrige, Anuradha Mallawaarachchi, Senevirathne Rodrigo, Theruni Ashansa, Ama Wijesekera, Thushari Chamila, Mihiri Priyangani Sapa, Pinsara Samarasekera, Nishan Dewapriya, Sasitha Senanayake, Aruna Aththanayake, Sujith Wijesinghe, Lakshani Madhuwanthi and Ashinsa Rodrigo play in the drama. Shantha Peiris handles the music that was originally composed by the late Maestro Premasiri Khemadasa.
A choir of singers including Soorya Dayaruvan, Vishva Prabath, Dhananjaya Hettiarachchi, Chamath Kalansooriya, Isuru Lakmal, Chamith Senanayake, Suranga Pradeep Edirisinghe, Anushka Vithanage, Navodi Jayasena, Ishanka Nishshanka, Nadeesha Sandamali, Nadeeka Harshani, Thushari Chamila Gunarathne, Ama Wijesekera join in the playback singing while stage setting is by Lalith Jayalal. Suwinitha Perera does the costume design and Prasannajith Abeysooriya’s assists the direction. Jude Srimal organised the play and tickets are available at the Lionel Wendt Theatre.
