Resignation not connected to Principal’s contract extension

Dr. Raja Thalgahagoda of Kundasale has written to us with reference to a news item that was published last week titled ‘ Trinity College board, manager resign over acting Principal’s extension’ stating that his resignation from his post as manager was not connected to the extension of the Principal’s contract.

He has sent us a copy of his resignation letter where he states that he is resigning due to his “several commitments” and because he feels the time is right “for someone else to take over my responsibilities as Manager”.

The news item referred to three members of the Board of Governors of the leading Kandy school also resigning.
