Take a trip to the 60s with the Jetliners
View(s):The Original Jetliners will give their last performance together at a farewell concert on Sunday, March 3 at the Musaeus College Hall starting at 7 p.m. On Friday, March 1, they will also perform at a Dinner Dance at the Galadari Hotel Grand Ballroom. For fans from the good old days , the concert and the dance offer a rare chance to see Mignonne Fernando, Anton Gunawijeya, Indra Raj, Felix Fernando, Harris Jurangpathy and Conrad De Silva reunited. The members of the band are already in town and going through the rehearsals at present.
They will be joined by a special guest from UK David Roberts. The organiser of the event Damayantha says most of the concert tickets have been sold out but there are a few tickets remaining. He advises Jetliners’ fans to grab the opportunity as this is definitely the last time that the original members of the Jetliners will perform as one group.
The dinner dance also promises to take the Jetliner fans back to the era of the Coconut Grove. A selection of more than 60 songs has been picked to be performed by The Jetliners at the dance. Fans will also get an opportunity meet up with the members of the band and dance to their favourite songs of yesteryear. A ticket for the dinner dance is Rs. 5200 net per person.
