Richmond College Galle outclassed Revatha MMV Balapitiya by eight wickets in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Balapitiya and in the process recorded their eighth outright win in the ongoing inter-school cricket season.

The heroes for Richmond were right arm spinner A.K. Tyron who had a seven wicket haul (7/9) in the first inning and then another three (3/34) in the second innings to end up with a impressive match bag of 10 for 43 and left arm pacie Chamod Piyumal who ruined Revatha MMV’s second innings with a five wicket haul.

At Ananda Mawatha an opening wicket stand of 176 between Yashan Samarasinghe who made 102 with 14 boundaries and a six and Dylan Fernandopulle, who chipped in with a 85 inclusive of ten boundaries and a six and a half ton by Sadeera Samarawickrama, helped St. Joseph’s to register a first inning win over Ananda.

A fine 75 by Thilina Silva helped St. Benedict’s secure a first inning win over Isipathana at Kotahena.

The match between Royal and Trinity at Reid Avenue ended in a draw. Wesley and St. Sebastian’s too featured in a drawn game at Campbell Park.
