Trinity Rugby Carnival on March 2
View(s):Trinity College Kandy will kick off their Singer Inter-School Under 20 rugby league season with the game against Dharmaraja College Kandy in mid March. The Trinitians are led by Full Back Halique Wadood, a Trinity Lion, this year. Wadood can also fit in as a Scrum Half if the need arises.
Once again the ‘Lions’ will be coached by New Zealander Neil Footie with Nilufer Ibrahim helping him.
Trinity will organize a Rugby carnival on March 2 at Pallekelle with the matches starting at 11 am. There will be matches from Under 10 onwards and the day will end with the traditional Present Boys and Old Boys battling it out for the Rev.A.G. Fraser challenge shield.
Player of the match will receive the Col. Bertie Dias challenge trophy. Chief guest for event is Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Governor of Central Province with Guests of Honour being Vish Govindasamy, Managing Director of Watawala Plantations (Trinity team sponsors) and Ajith Abeyratne.
The following is the coaching staff of Trinity Rugby for 2013 : Under 20 – Neil Footie and Nilufer Ibrahim; 2nd XV- Pradeep Basnayake; Under 18 -Thishitha De Silva; Under 16 – Arnua Rankothge; Under 14 – Zoysa and Buddhika ; Under 10 & 12 – Y M S Ratnayake.
