The Damso Sports Festival Culminates with a “Glittering Show” by the Cadets…
View(s):Centenary Commemorative Celebration is one of the milestones for Ambalangoda Dharmasoka College, as she completes her
centenary year in 2013. The sports festival was one of the major events organized, comprising 10 games – Chess, Badminton, Basketball, Soccer, Cricket, Table tennis, Athletics and Cadetting.
Table Tennis was commenced with a grand opening as the first event of the celebration and followed by all the other games.
The last event was the Cadet Drill and Band Competition which was held on 26th February, 2013, among 20 platoons of schools of the 1st Battalion of the National Cadet Corps.
Major General H.K.P.Hendawitharana VSV USP (Rtd) was invited as the Chief Guest for the Route March opening ceremony at 8.30am and a Guard of Honour was accorded to him.
Ambalangoda Dharmashoka College emerged the 1st place in the Cadet Drill Competition while Rathgama Davapathiraja College and Galle Richmond College captured the second and third places respectively.
Galle Mahinda College bagged the championship in the Cadet Band Competition. Ambalangoda Dharmashoka College captured the 1st runner-up and Galle Vidyaoka College got the 2nd Runners-up.
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, SLAC graced the closing ceremony of the event and a Guard of Honour was accorded by the Cadet Platoons. The prize distribution was held at S.Thomas De Silva memorial Audi torium, Amabalangoda.
