Research strength

Curtin was rated amongst the best in Australia for our research in the areas of Earth Sciences, Geology, Curriculum and Pedagogy and Analytical Chemistry. We were rated amongst the best in WA for a further 24 research areas (Excellence in Research for Australia National Report 2010)Curtin educates more health professionals than any other Western Australian tertiary institution with 83 per cent of Health Sciences graduates were employed within four months of graduating in 2009.

Curtin is one of the institutions involved in the project to create the world’s largest telescope, the Square Kilometre Array.Curtin is a member of the Australian Technology Network, an alliance of five of the most innovative and enterprising universities in Australia.In 2009 Curtin opened the Resources and Chemistry Precinct. The precinct represents a $116 million investment primarily funded by Curtin, with contributions from BHP Billiton and the Australian Federal Government.
