Bermin brings ‘Sandalutale Kumariyo’

Veteran teledrama director and filmmaker Bermin Lylie Fernando launched his latest film titled ‘Sandalutale Kumariyo’ with a cast comprising popular stars. Ranjan Ramanayake, Anusha Damayanthi, Vijaya Nandasiri, Tennyson Cooray, Anarkalli Aakrasha, Premasiri Vithanage, Chathura Perera, Menaka Maduwanthi, Chanchala Warnasuriya and Pethu Priyangika are to play the main roles in the film which is scripted by Somapala Leelananda, Pushpakumara Rajaguru is to handle the camera.
Meanwhile Bermin who celebrated 52 years in television and cinema was felicitated for his contribution to Sri Lankan art. At the felicitation ceremony on March 15 at Mahaweli Centre, all his tele directions were released in DVD formats and a book written about his artistic journey and a website was launched.
Bermin also recently presented all his tele serials that were telecast on Rupavahini to the National Archives in order to save them as archival materials that could be used for academic purposes for those who study Sri Lankan television and teledrama culture. The event was held at the Rupavahini Corporation amidst a distinguished gathering. Bermin Lylie Fernando was also felicitated during the event in recognition of his longstanding contributions to arts.
Among some of the much loved tele serials directed by Bermin are ‘Ganga Saha Nissanka’, ‘Bodima’, ‘Surasura’, ‘Sannaliyane, Maruwela’, ‘Mal Kekulak’, ‘Ginigath Reyak’, ‘Swarna Kinkini’, ‘Theertha Tharanaya’, ‘Sathsanda Kirana’, ‘Sanda Madyahnaya’, ‘Prema Parami’, ‘Sakala Wikala’ and ‘Akunu Sera’.
