Lyceum International produces best word makers

Lyceum International School, Wattala won the Lyceum Challenge Trophy, awarded to the overall champions, for the sixth consecutive year at the recent Inter-International Schools’ Scrabble Championships.
Lyceum Nugegoda, who fielded two teams, emerged overall runner-up thus winning the Lyceum Challenge Trophy offered for the second best team of the competition. Stafford International School, Leighton Park International School and Burhani Serendib School secured the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. This event was organized by Lyceum International School Wattala for the sixth consecutive year. Wimal Fernando, President of the Sri Lanka Scrabble League (SLSL), was the Chief Guest while Kandhan Mahendran, its treasurer was the adjudicator.
Eleven schools, comprising Alethea International School, Burhani Serendib School, College of World Education, Colombo International School, Elizabeth Moir School, Gateway College Kandy, Leighton Park International School, Lyceum International Schools from Nugegoda and Wattala, Stafford International School, Regent International College participated in this tournament. A total of 43 teams, with five players each, participated in three age categories: junior, intermediate and senior. – NA
