Coining Sri Lanka amongst the global fashion elite, the best of young fashion talent from our island nation was selected to show at one of world’s top fashion festivals; the London Fashion Weekat its ‘International Fashion Showcase’. Championing and leading Sri Lanka’s fashion fleet for London was the island’s most reputed design educator- AOD international design campus.
5 AOD graduates PrabathSamarasooriya, Isuru Fernando, Lonali Rodrigo, NithyaLamahewa and Sheshadri Nithyanandan won the places in the prestigious London Fashion. These designers have launched their own promising brands upon graduating with internationally acclaimed Northumbria UK degrees through AOD international campus in Colombo. The collections included a glamorous array of clothing in par with latest global styles and cutting edge themes like green fashion, 
sustainable recycling of industrial waste, empowering craft communities with fashion etc.
The glittering event generated great interest in the AOD design campus and Sri Lankan design talent among global fashion and design celebrities who attended the showcase and praised Sri Lanka’s young talent for being conscious designers who are not only exceptionally creative but also well rounded in their design education through AOD. This included Britain’s lingerie queen Michelle Mone (Founder and CEO of ULTIMO/MJM International) who commended Sri Lankan talent and mentioned that she foresees the future of her designer brand in a country like Sri Lanka brimming with talent. The venturewas supported by the Sri Lankan High Commission to the UK and British Council Sri Lanka and was held at London’s legendary design school Central Saint Martins’ former building.
