Janadhipathi emerge unbeaten U15 hockey champs
View(s):Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya Sri Jayawardanapura, who have made excellent progress in hockey during the past few years, performed outstandingly in the finals of the Under 15 Colombo School Hockey Championship, where they trounced Musaeus College 2-0.
In the preliminary round Janadhipathi BV beat Visakha Vidyalaya (3-0), Bishop’s College (3-0), Ladies’ College (3-0). In the semi-finals JBV were once again dominant, beating Sirimavo Balika Vidyalaya by one goal to nil. JBV scored 12 goals during the tournament while ensuring that no goal was scored against them during the entire tournament. The JBV team is guided by a veteran coach A.N. Perera, while Anjana Abeyrathne is the Teacher-in-Charge. Lakshi Uthpala and Thueshani Wanigenetthi are the Assistant Teachers-in-Charge.
