In this digital age it is indeed heartening to see the work of a photographer of the old school who still clings on to the old technology of print film. The Tagore Society of Sri Lanka, in association with the Indian Cultural Centre presents “Commentaries on living IV” -the 6th solo exhibition of photographer, Angelo De Mel at the Indian Cultural Centre on April 5, 6 and 7

De Mel’s work is characterised by the fact that he strives to raise the photograph to a level of thought and feeling which goes beyond the confines of the frame, from the mundane to the universal as it were. The present photographs are taken straight from life as it happens and are blissfully free from computer manipulation. The title of this whole series of photographs is taken from the series of books of the same title by the great Indian philosopher Krishnamoorthy.
