Xtaztic, the annual fundraiser of S. Thomas College Mt. Lavinia’s UN Club will be held on April 11 at the CR&FC Grounds for the 8th consecutive year. This is the first time the previously indoor event will be held in an outdoor setting with some exciting new add-ons to the annual extravaganza of music and good vibes, say the organizers behind the show.

Dillon Ranaweera, Deputy Head of the school’s London A/L section and staff advisor to the UN Club, has been an important figure behind the annual show for a long time. “We organise this event annually to raise funds for the UN Club’s activities,” he explains.
Previous performers have included Bathiya and Santhush, Doctor and now the notorious Sheriffs, who’ve been signed by Sony Music International. Interestingly enough, the Sheriffs (comprising of Azlan and Dirk) made their debut performance at the 2011 Xtaztic show where they kept the audience hooked with their performance.

This year the impressive line up of performers includes the bands Black, Glory, Doctor, the Accidentals and the Sheriffs along with soloists Ryan and Sachi, together with Jayy Vibes. The Sheriffs have been returning to the stage since their debut performance, and the three new acts Black, Glory and the Accidentals are sure to keep you hooked with their performances say Project Chairpersons Sereg Ousman and Pravir Goonewardene.

Jithen Silva, President of the school’s UN Club, is looking forward to making good use of the funds raised this year for the club’s various goodwill activities.

Last year the show raised Rs. 600, 000 which they used for several carefully chosen projects around the country, including a health camp. This year the estimated budget for the entire event is almost Rs. 2 million, so these guys are looking forward to spearheading an even bigger project with the funds raised.

Apart from the spectacular performances there will also be several carnival-like attractions, they say. You can take a break from the music to refresh yourself with food and drink from several stalls including the Commons Roti Karaththey, Sandwich Factory, the Barnesbury, Baskin Robbins, Pizza Hut and a homemade dessert stall.

There will also be a raffle draw, so count your lucky stars and you might win a ticket to Dubai and a stay at the Serendib Hotels.
Xtaztic will be held on the April 11 at the CR & FC Grounds. Tickets can be purchased at the Commons and with school UN Club members. The show will be hosted by Dominic Keller of Pusswedilla fame, so you certainly don’t want to miss this!
