Shivantha Vivekanandan elected committee member of Deaf International Cricket Council
View(s):Zaharine Hameen (Patron, Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket Association) and Shivantha Vivekanandan (President, Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket Association) attended the 1st Deaf International Cricket Council Annual General Meeting, which was held in Dubai, UAE, recently. The other countries like Australia, England, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan and South Africa were present.

Vivekanandan from Sri Lanka was elected Committee Member of the Deaf International Cricket Council at the DICC Annual General Meeting. He promoted the leather ball cricket for the deaf cricketers in Division III conducted by the Sri Lanka Cricket. He toured India for the 1st Deaf Cricket Asia Cup tournament in 2007 and also toured Pakistan for the 3 ODI Cricket tournament between the Sri Lanka deaf cricket team and the Pakistan deaf cricket team in 2009, again to Pakistan for the 2nd Deaf Cricket Asia Cup tournament in 2011, , as an official. He was one of the organizing committee when the Pakistan deaf cricket team toured Sri Lanka in 2008 to play 3 ODI Cricket tournament against the Sri Lanka deaf cricket team.
