BA resumes flights to Colombo, special fares offer to UK
View(s):British Airways (BA) resumed flights to Colombo on Monday and at the same time announced a special offer on return fares to London.
This offer of Rs 98,579 for a return journey is available until 21 April 2013 for outbound travel period between 8th April and 31st July 2013, the airline said this week in a media statement.
BA’s thrice weekly frequency via Male would be operated by a Boeing 777-200 in a three class configuration offering flat beds in Club World, the premium economy, World Traveller plus and World Traveller seats. The airline is returning to Sri Lanka after over 17-years.
Christopher Fordyce, Regional Commercial Manager, South Asia, commenting on the resumption of services said Sri Lanka has emerged as one of the most popular destinations among leisure and business travellers. “Sri Lanka offers immense opportunities and scope in tourism and economic growth particularly for the small and medium enterprises segment. This is such an exciting route for us and we are thrilled to return to Sri Lanka and flying from this excellent, commercially important destination once again,” he was quoted as saying.
