Lighthouse Hotel PLC profits at over Rs.1 billion
View(s):The Lighthouse Hotel PLC has recorded a 14% growth in turnover compared to the previous year with profits at over Rs.1 billion, a media release issued by the organisation stated.
The hotel that is a boutique property and a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World has recorded a turnover of over Rs.614 million for the year ended March 31, 2013.
The release also stated that the company has proposed a dividend payout of Rs.92 million.
The company noted that this was the hotel’s highest recorded turnover and profits in 15 years since it was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
The hotel has made plans to expand the property, and add a further 22 rooms plus three spa rooms.nedia release revealed.
Issuing a statement Jetwing Chairman Hiran Cooray said “When we first announced our intention to open a luxury property in Galle, we were met with much derision. People thought it will be a failure, as at the time the destination was not a popular one. The past year has brought about the highest figures in the hotel’s history, and I look forward to it rising even higher in the years to come”.
Lighthouse Hotels PLC is a part of the Jetwing Group that is a family owned organization which has been in the tourism industry for the past 40 years, the media release stated.
