‘In celebrating the fifth anniversary of the entertainment company “Starlanka Music” headed by me, I were to present two concerts by the name of “The Unforgettable Story of Sinhala Pop” in March and “The Calypso Carnival” in June but since I had to postpone the March event due to the hospitalisation of A. E. Manoharan, I finally decided to combine the two concepts and give the Sri Lankan fans their monies worth, in other words two concerts for the price of one’ said Rajiv.

The story-board for the evening will unfold the journey of Sri Lankan Calypso lately developed towards Sinhala Pop by veteran Vijaya Corea and Gayani Karunaratne of Gayani Dance Studio would add the choreography glamour by going up to the extent of using the traditional “Kohomba Kaley” creating the atmosphere of Kataragama in addition to the Hawaiian dance acts using the maximum advantage with the collapsible stages at Nelum Pokuna. Rajiv Sebastian who is well known as the only alternative to have done justice to the vibes and creativity of the Legendary Clarence Wijewardane since his death, is due to arrange the music for the evening with his band Rajiv and the Clan saving the original flavour of Sri Lankan Calypso and Sinhala Pop created during the 70’s.
