‘Thaththe Api Ava’ is a teleplay revolving around a deep love of an elderly father is now being telecast at 9 pm every Satruday on Swarnavahini chanel.  Directed by veteran actor and director Dr. Jayalath Manoratne and produced by Jayasiri Muramudalige, the teledrama tells the story of a heart-broken father who starts a journey to visit his grown up children who are too busy in the city and have no time to attend their dead mother’s alms giving.

Mihindukulasuriya is a retired Engineer whose children are Lalith, Udara, Ramani and Nadee. Udara who is involved in dramas lives in Colombo. Lalith is an insurance agent in Ratnapura. Ramani is a nurse working in Moneragala.

Nadee teaches technology in Chilaw. Mihindukulasuriya who lives alone in the hill country, organizes his wife’s alms giving annually with great enthusiasm, especially expecting his children would come home. But sadly he does not see the face of even one child. After about a week the heart-broken man goes to visit his children. The whole tele series depicts his journey and the various social conflicts he faces.

The cast includes Jayalath Manoratne, Roshan Ravindra, Madhani Malwatte, Dharmapriya Dias, Thisuri Ywanika, Jehan Srikantha, Sampath Jayaweera, Samadhi Laksiri and Daya Wayaman.  Scripted by Rasika Suraweera Arachchig, camera is handled by Chandana Dharmapriya and Janaka Fonseka directs the music.
