Parents were shocked when they were locked out of the Sugathadasa Stadium when trials were taking place for a key sports event. Disgusted parents say that this is the first time where parents were locked out from witnessing trials when a team is being picked for a foreign tour. It has also unearthed that a coach of this sport, who hails from Kalutara, has been under fire for selecting some girls who are utterly unfit to even be in the said sport’s pool.
Above the rest
A newly-elected sports body had their first meeting recently and the press too was invited to attend it. To the amazement of all, only the President of that body sat at the head table, no-one else! A journalist wanted to know why only the chief of the association sat at the head when usually the Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary and Committee Members also sat at the table when addressing issues. All those who usually sit at the head table sat in the audience. It is said that this head of the sports body does not like to rub shoulders with common men and likes to keep himself on a higher tier from the rest.
Wipe out that picture
A sport which is very much in the news these days has decided to ‘turn over’ the pictures of a past president. They say that it is best to ‘hide’ the face of this past president, who is alleged to have mismanaged funds and his actions are still being probed by the international body. Some say that even turning the picture of this past president is not good enough and it should be completely wiped out.
Four factions
Insiders say that there is a four-cornered tussle in the Citadel between four major factions. They wonder what will happen when important decisions are to be made because as it is it looks as if this four-cornered tussle will drag on forever.
Husky males beware
All of us like to possess a husky body with muscles and all. The association responsible for producing good-looking bodies is under fire 
these days because their AGM has been stopped by a court order. The reason for this is that their audit reports are not ready. Believe it or not there are 28 complaints filed in court against this body. It looks as if the sport will never get out of this mess. What more can we say about a sports body which is keen on producing husky males for competitions!
Vehicles to his beck and call
Back to the Citadel. This time an official who has no right to use vehicles belonging to the sports body is having a gala time. He uses vehicles belonging to this sports body at his whims and fancies. He even keeps a vehicle at home! Insiders say that he is not supposed to and does not even have the authority to use these vehicles, but he used them as if they belonged to him. What can be done about a man of this nature. Who controls him?
