CMI, KPMG to collaborate on knowledge sharing initiatives
View(s):The Sri Lanka branch of the Chartered Management Institute, UK, recently entered into a long term arrangement with KPMG’s member firm in Sri Lanka.
The agreement is to collaborate on a series of knowledge sharing programmes aimed at enhancing professional management practices and collective knowledge sharing as well as networking opportunities amongst business managers in Sri Lanka, the CMI local branch said.
The (CM) which has over 90,000 members in the United Kingdom as well as in other branches and chapters across the globe works with individual managers to help them achieve enhanced results through the development of increased professionalism and management practices to support managers in their day to day work routines.
Rohitha Mendis, President of CMI UK Sri Lanka branch stated that “We have already collaborated on a number of seminars covering topics such as business growth through mergers and acquisitions, zeroing in on fraud, tax in the supply chain and islamic finance”.
He added that “the collaboration will allow CMI and KPMG to work together on further initiatives covering topics of management importance”.
KPMG Sri Lanka’s Managing Partner, Reyaz Mihular noted that “KPMG is pleased to collaborate with CMI in these knowledge sharing initiatives and will continue to support the programmes in future. The business environment is continuously evolving and it is therefore necessary for managers to keep ahead of global developments as well as those which affect the local business environment”.
