SriLankan Airlines tickets thro’ Mobitel phones
View(s):State-owned Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel and SriLankan Airlines are offering customers the option of reserving airline tickets via mobile phone.
Expanding on Mobitel’s mTicketing platform, this collaboration breaks new ground, and makes it the only entity to offer this facility in the country, the phone company said.
The way to go, the company said, is to dial 365 which will then connect to a specialised Mobitel Travel Expert who will assist in booking a airline ticket, providing all possible flights and rates as per customer requirements.
Once the airline ticket has been reserved, payment will have to be made at any Mobitel outlet before the expiration of the reservation. Following payment, a printed e-ticket will be handed over to the customer.

The mTicketing platform has been designed especially for the Sri Lankan consumer. We already offer the reservation of train tickets, movie tickets and cricket match tickets.
