Most employers have a very high regard and approve of of the immensely useful technical skills and experience which BTEC HND students gain in studying. Many employers believe that students with BTEC HNDs are able to start work immediately, and do not require training in order to be able to do the work they are employed for.
Higher National Diplomas are ‘outcome based’, which means that students a encouraged to demonstrate that they can achieve the stated learning outcomes in the programme by undertaking a range of practical and varied assessment tasks. There are no theoretical essays, HND assessments are geared to the demands of a vocational qualification which expects practical relevance. Each HND consists of 16 units. They are designed with employers and employment in mind.
The BTEC HND programme at ACHE takes approximately 18 months to complete, and is carefully designed with these factors in mind and emphasizes on imparting practical knowledge, drawing on prior work experience and skills in addition to equipping them with comprehensive theoretical knowledge. Students will be assessed based on assignments, which will have to be submitted periodically, rather than through written examinations. Currently ACHE offers specialization at HND level in fields such as HRM, Marketing and Management and intends to introduce many more in future.
There are three intakes each year for the BTEC HND programme and the students are free to choose between weekend or weekday classes according to their preference and convenience. Each batch will consist of a maximum of 30 students, to ensure individual attention for each student.
The next intake for the HND Program Commences on the 08th of June 2013.
