‘My World through the Looking Glass’, an exhibition by the senior and junior schools of Elizabeth Moir will be held next week at the Lionel Wendt. Drop in for a quick trip through the wonderful imaginings of the younger artists and perspectives of the older students, as they put to paper the world they see.

Visitors to the exhibition will find canvas paintings, sketches, line drawing works, crayon posters, pencil and acrylic paintings, clay models, painted t-shirts and even some jewellery.

Art teacher Aruni Wijegunawardena who oversees the coordination of the event along with the school’s Art Club says that they also hope to display a few garments designed by the seniors with batik cloth made by the students themselves.

“We had a catwalk for them to model their own clothes for their school friends and family at the Inter House Art exhibition and those will be at the exhibition,” she says, adding that photos from that event will also be on display.

‘My World through the Looking Glass’ will be on at the Lionel Wendt on May 15 and 16
