Upcountry Lions felicitated for Sevens success

In recognition of their recent triumph at the Inter-Club Rugby Sevens, the Upcountry Lions were felicitated by their sponsors, Crysbro, at an elaborate ceremony staged at the Water’s Edge hotel last week.

The event was graced by Sports Minister, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and also drew the presence of senior club officials such as Coach Inthi Marikkar, Manager Hassen Sinhawansha, Club Chairman Chanuka Ratwatte and Crysbro Marketing Manager Amoriss Seller. The Lions registered their tournament conquest by beating Havelock’s in a riveting final which ended 14-12 at Havelock Park.
