MTI Forum to provide answers to why fewer HR specialists become CEOs
View(s):MTI HRM Solutions is holding its MTI HRM Forum 2013 – based on a study of 100 top Heads of HR and 50 CEOs in Sri Lanka – on June 5 in Colombo.
“Many HR Forums tend to focus on transplanting text book HR concepts to Sri Lanka and are highly opinionated. Further, some of the hard issues are not tackled sufficiently and in a structured manner, for example ‘Why do so few HR professionals go on to bcome CEOs? This is where the MTI HRM Forum will break new ground by challenging conventional wisdom and more importantly taking a business view of HR,” said MTI CEO Hilmy Cader.
The MTI HRM Forum will comprise of two HR modules and one CEO module. Each module will commence with presentation of MTI research findings and thought leadership, followed by focused panels that will discuss the research finding and debate on relevant issues, MTI said in a statement.
The core HR Panels will feature top HR professionals including Asitha Jayatunga, Head of Group HR – Expolanka Holdings PLC & Vice President – Association of HR Professionals; Ms. Deshika Rodrigo, Head of Human Resources – Standard Chartered Bank; Roshan Kulasuriya, HR and Corporate Relations Director – Fonterra and Udayan Dutt, Director – Human Resources and Corporate Relations – Unilever Sri Lanka.
The CEO panel will include Nayana Dehigama, Chairman / Managing Director – EPIC Group of Companies and Shirendra Lawrence, Managing Director – MAS Active.
The presentation of the research findings and moderation will be through an international MTI team comprising Darshan Singh, Senior HR Consultant – MTI (Middle East & Asia); Hilmy Cader, CEO – MTI Consulting and Ms. Niyanthini Kadirgamar, Associate Consultant – MTI HRM Solutions.
