Environment Day at APIIT Law School
View(s):APIIT Law School joins hands with Earth Hour Sri Lanka to celebrate World Environment Day on the 5th of June. World Environment Day is celebrated every year since 1973, to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action
The event will bring together not only students from the various faculties of APIIT and their lecturers, but also students from various secondary and higher educational institutes, to take part in an exciting line up of events.
The program will start with an address from a renowned environmental lawyer, as well as a lecturer – both of whom will provide the context and background of environmental issues and the action surrounding it.
This will be followed by the launch of APIIT’s contribution to the Earth Hour’s global campaign ‘I will if you will’, where a pledge will be made to produce, distribute and publish a tri-lingual book which will explain the current laws relating to the environment. Also there will be video uploaded to the Earth Hour Global website.
The event will wrap up with a quiz competition with free giveaways of Earth Hour Sri Lanka merchandise as well as merchandise from Colombo Green Walk.
The event will be organized by the first year law students, the event promises to be dynamic as well as educational – taking words and making them actions.
