Sri Lanka Association of Administrative & Professional Secretaries celebrates 35 years
View(s):The Sri Lanka Association of Administrative & Professional Secretaries reached another landmark in its march forward in the year 2013, when it celebrated 35 years of significant achievements in conjunction with the International Administrative Professionals’ week.
The Association had the honour of hosting the International Administrative Professionals’ Week Seminar recently at the hotel Cinnamon Lakeside. The aim of this seminar was to instill in its members to take the initiative in any new situation, face challenges and be instrumental in bringing transformation which is accompanied by progress and novelty. Ameer Ahamed, Samitha Perera and Ms Jayamini Samarathunge were the speakers at the seminar. The speakers emphasized on the necessity of passion and dedication and commitment to a task for success. Further, it was also emphasized that positive thinking and developing positive attitude is a major contributory factor to reach one’s target.
The main highlight of this seminar was the awarding of 5 scholarships to deserving students who have a passion for the secretarial profession and do not have the opportunity to enter into the profession. The Chief Guest, His Lordship Mohan Peiris, Chief Justice, gave away the awards to the students. His Lordship emphasized on two factors in his address to the participants and stated that the administrative professionals have a very responsible task of initiating the change and seeing it executed to perfection. His Lordship also commended the Association in its social service program and specifically on the granting of scholarships to deserving students.
The seminar was a tremendous success since the non members and members participated actively and constructively.
