Specially designed popular European tour packages with border-less prepaid card was launched last week by Thomas Cook (India) in collaboration with Sparlink Travels limited.

The Thomas Cook tours range between seven to nine days, and will commence from August 2013, to fascinating destinations like Paris, Switzerland and Italy. Thomas Cook’s consumer research had revealed strong growth and potential from its discerning Sri Lankan markets, and in a focused endeavour to tap this segment, its product experts have designed a personalised product for its valued Sri Lankan customers.

The special tailor-made tours offer its sophisticated Sri Lankan travellers a home-away-from-home experience with professional and friendly Thomas Cook tour managers.

The reason being that travelers cheques were now phasing out in world, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd Director- Leisure Travel (Outbound) Madhav Pai said.

‘This would help Sri Lanka because the number of Sri Lankan outbound travelers have increase by 35 percent compared to last year, which indicates that the income level of Sri Lankans have increased considerably.”Our consumer research has revealed that there is a strong growth potential from discerning Sri Lankan markets focus was to endeavor to tap this segment. Therefore, Sri Lanka is a potential market with the increase of number of outbound tourists’ he said.
