New cost effective bleaching agent for Sri Lankan sole crepe and crepe manufacture
View(s):A new brand of Latex Bleaching Agent for sole Crepe and crepe manufacture was launched for Sri Lanka’s plantation industry this week on June 1 called – DECOLOR CT.
Though the brand is new, it is the same old chemical that had been used for the last 3-4 decades in Sri Lanka, modified by a leading Rubber Technologist, in the nineteen eighties, who made it water soluble in order to ease the handling in the latex factories in Sri Lanka, the company behind the product said.
“The significance of this new product is that it was developed from the basic raw materials, by the undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya at C and T Worldwide (Pvt) Ltd, Laboratory where they underwent industrial training, under its CEO. It took nearly seven years to perfect this product, user friendly and commercially viable,” the company said.
C and T Worldwide (Pvt) Ltd said that this product will help a substantial cost saving due to the local manufacture of this product. The company thanked the Minister of Plantations and many others for their support in bulk trials from October 2012 up to now.
