China draws closer to Lanka
View(s):China has offered US$ 2.2 billion (around Rs. 278 billion) worth of new loans to Sri Lanka, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a media briefing on Friday in Beijing.
Mr. Hong was responding to questions after the recent visit of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Beijing where the two countries signed a defence agreement besides a host of deals to enhance infrastructure projects in the country.
