Centre Bhuvenaka Udangamuwa was the toast of the Rajans as he was responsible in scoring the three tries to guide his side to victory.
The first session, even though St Joseph’s took a 7-3 lead in the first 20 minutes of play, saw the two teams sharing honours later on with the score ending at 15 each at ‘lemons.’

The Rajans made up their score through two goals a try and a penalty as against to a goal, two tries and a penalty by St Joseph’s which indicated that the game was going to end in a nail biting finish.

On resumption the Josephians took the lead with an unconverted try and it further kept supporters of both the teams, on their toes. However the Rajans who have shown tremendous potential right through the season put up some exciting moves which had their opponents on the defense.

They made some sporadic moves and then was successful, when it mattered most, by going for that crucial try by Thilina Wijesinghe who also made the conversions.

For the Josephians second row Devon Fernando, centre Vimukthi Radella and winger Stephan Gregory scored the tries with Dulith Fernando booting over the conversion and the penalty.

It’s pathetic to see as the abusing of referees continuing .After the match the crowd invaded the field and threatened referee Charith Kodagoda. The officials handling the tournament and also the officials of the respective schools should also be blamed as it’s their duty to see that discipline is maintained even after the match.-MSA
