Ceylinco Healthcare cutting costs of health screening
View(s):Ceylinco Healthcare Services Ltd (CHSL) is cutting the cost of general health screening by nearly 60 per cent this month to promote the concept of periodic health checks as a routine.
The company said in a media release that it will offer eight tests, two consultations with a doctor — one before and the other after undergoing tests — as well as a complete physical examination, for Rs 990 during the month.
The offer is part of CHSL’s activities to mark its annual ‘Health Screening Month’ programme, conducted every June for the past four years.
This special package includes consultation with an in-house Medical Officer, complete physical examination, tests such as Body Mass Index (BMI), Visual Acuity, Blood Pressure, Refraction, Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), Total Cholesterol, Full Blood Count (FBC), Urine Full Report (UFR) and a discussion of the test reports with a Medical Officer.
The regular cost of this package is Rs 2,400. “The increasing prevalence non communicable diseases such as Diabetes, Hypertension and Cancer, which carry a huge economic and social cost, make regular health checks imperative,” said Dr. Shyama Fernando, Senior Medical Officer at the Ceylinco Healthcare Centre.
“Unhealthy life styles are resulting in more and more adults as well as young people being afflicted with illnesses that can be better managed if they are detected early. That is why this programme is of immense value to the public.”
She said the package would be particularly attractive to corporate entities that would like to have their employees screened.
