through many parts of the island, Blue Star remains as the top team from Group ‘A’ while newcomer Solid Sports Club stormed to regain the top position of Group ‘B’. Most of the matches were either abandoned or rescheduled for later days as the existing weather pattern did not, in any way, support the cause of the competition.

Blue Star and Java Lane settled to a goalless draw at City Football Complex as they maintained the lead in Group ‘A’ followed by Ratnam, who could not complete their game last week was promoted to the second place from third. Defending champions Navy SC, too gained a place to third after Colombo FC was pushed down two places to fourth. Java Lane remains at fifth position while Saunders after beating Air Force by 2-1 at Kelaniya moved three places up to sixth. Saunders’ elevation in the points table, resulted in Negombo Youth, Matara City and Air Force losing a place each while Super Sun are slotted at the bottom.

From Group ‘B’ Solid SC who initially led the points table, regained their position as the only unbeaten team from the set. As a result Army who held the leadership, was pushed down to second as Don Bosco too moved down a place to third. Meanwhile Upcountry Lions gained two positions from sixth to fourth along with Nandimithra who also was promoted to fifth from seventh. Police lost two places and was forced down to sixth followed by Renown who also moved two slots down from fifth to seventh. But New Youngs, Pelicans and Kalutara Park remain unchanged in the group at their respective places.
